Kit-Cat Clock
My mom bought me a Kit-Cat clock. On the one hand, it’s silly. But on the other hand, it’s a memento of my dear departed friend Merrill, the polydactyl tuxedo cat who loved to play fetch:
When I was a kid I was fascinated by moving clocks. One of our neighbors had several that were mesmerizing, including one of these. Overall, it’s a great gift and now lives on my office wall, where it can watch over me while I edit video.

That clock reminds me of Felix the Cat. Anybody remember Felix the cat?

You’re right, John, he reminds me very much of Felix the cat (who I remember very fondly!)

Everyone should have a Kit-Cat clock. I used to have an old beautiful wood mantlepiece clock, which I bought when I was 9 fro the school jumble sale. It was something quite magical to me. A special treasure in my arsenal of prized acquisitions. An old brass key was what wound it. I’d always get impatient and wind it too quickly (and repeatedly!) which eventually led to its un’timely’ death, for sure. I’d always intended to get it fixed but alas… Oh my god, is it that time already.

I’ve loved these clocks and always wanted one as a kid. Kinda feels like someone’s watching you all the time though. Surveillance cat.

Oh! I’m so jealous! I was obsessed with these when I was a kid. There was a local ‘everything’ store that had them in every color filling a whole wall. All of them looking side to side, tails wagging all at once.
I finally bought myself one (a red one) when I moved way from home, but something broke and it doesn’t tick or tock any more.
He’s the perfect office companion, isn’t he!

The Felix the Cat people actually sued the kit kat clock people:

I wanted one of these clocks so badly back when I was a kid. I loved Felix too.
