This is a bit of leftover video from yesterday. I had some longer moments on campus that I wanted to share. I’ve given a more complete tour of my classroom. I didn’t know it at the time, but the sculpture students were conducting their annual iron pour later that evening. I’m sorry I didn’t stay to get video of that. I’ll have to put it on my calendar for next year!

Being a PC/Windows user, I’d melt down screaming like a vampire on a sun, if put among those Macs, LOL

Ha ha GoGen - some of my students do melt down when they have to use these beasts. One in particular this semester just hates the Mac. I have to keep reminding him it’s just a tool and that he is the master, not the other way around. And that it’s good to be competent with more than one operating system. He still whines lake a grumpy old man though. At least the screaming has stopped.

Ha! I suspect Jay was around there somewhere. It was definitely one of his.
Fantastic classroom. I’d love to sit in there for a few hours. Maybe you see things differently having to teach there all the time, but I’d love someone to show me how to use Final Cut Pro properly.Steep learning curve. I sort of grope about on instinct . Not always the best way to proceed. I need instruction.
More tours please.

when I saw the screen shot of the video, I thought it was giant poop on the floor and I got excited becauase I wanted to see the beast who did that…..then I found out it was “art”….apparent’ly I make “art” 3 times a day….
I’m sorry, I am cracking myself up…loved the post and I think it’s kinda cool to have the declaration of independence actually….

@Heath, you crack me up! They do look a bit like giant poops. But they’re really sidewinder rattlesnakes. And they’re cast in bronze. You don’t shit bronze, do you? That would be a pretty impressive superpower.
I think it’s cool to have the Declaration of independence - and I’d like to have a copy of the U.S. Constitution around too. The reason I’m disdainful is that the AZ legislature made a law that says every classroom in the state has to have the U.S. flag and the Declaration on display. Not like one in every school. One in every classroom. I don’t think they offered schools any funds to help buy these things. So they basically forced all the schools to waste a huge sum of money buying flags and posters, money that could have been spent on things students actually need for their education. i wonder if the flag and poster people are giving kickbacks to the AZ government. It’s just a stupid law - and they wasted time drafting and voting on it when they could have been solving real problems in education. Oh, you got me started. Don’t get me started.

Ah yes! The “Elements and Principles of Art” posters. I have the same ones in my classroom. My degrees are in fine art and I came into teaching through the back door. When I first started teaching I was unaware of some art ed speak. I kept hearing art educators talking about the “elements and principles”. I never heard of that! When I found out what they were talking about, I thought “Oh, I never read about those, I just USE them!! (Great Minds)
For your flag, would a Jasper Johns print of a flag painting do?
Also, MACS RULE!! I am “bilingual”. Have both Mac and PC. My PC is the meat and broccoli. My Mac is the dessert!

Yes! We tried to buy a Jasper Johns print of one of his flag paintings - great minds indeed! Someone in the administration put the kaibash on it. So we have to get it out of next semester’s budget.

LOL LOL LOL Don’t you LOVE educational “systems” and bureaucracy!! However, I must admit during my day job routine, I have to deal with both entities. I should be thankful because the exasperation and duress it causes me makes me realize I am not insane. If I was, I wouldn’t see the idiocy of these situations!
